Congress Committee Vijaypur hold Meet

GNS Vijaypur, December : A meeting of  Block Congress Committee Vijaypur was held at Vijaypur under the chairmanship of Thakur Hari Singh-Vice President PCC.
While speaking in the meeting Thakur Hari Singh said that the people of the Vijaypur block are facing great hardships due to long scheduled and unscheduled cuts in the power supply and poor drinking water supply has made the living of people miserable. The old poles and wirings is the main reason of power disruption and the old water pipes and faulty motors is the reason of drinking water crises. He urged upon the concerned authorities to immediately replace the old wires and water pipes and faulty infrastructure and provide uninterrupted power and regular water supply to the people of the areas.
He said that the farmers are suffering aqute shortage of fertilizers, seeds and are also facing great hardships of storage of irrigation water as the winter spell is also going on dry. He urged the concerned authoresses look into the matter immediately and redress the same.
Th. Hari Singh demanded trained and equipped infrastructure at the procurement stations in Vijaypur block so that the farmers would not have difficulties to sell their paddy easily on these procurement stations.

Water mapping survey disappoints state planners

Tahir Mushtaq  GNS JAMMU, Mar 03: The much awaited water mapping survey conducted to find new sources of ground water in Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has found that most of the water reserves are unsuitable for human consumption. Sources said that the remote sensing technology survey carried out by the government with the help of ISRO has found high level of iron and fluoride contents in the underground sources of water found in the state.  The report says that many of the newly found underground water channels have been found at inaccessible locations, which need sophisticated technology to extract, beyond the range of equipment what the engineers are using in the country at the moment.
