DySP arrested SSP, SP, Reasi attached

GNS JAMMU, DecIn a major decision, the Government today ordered attachment of three senior police officers of Reasi district including SSP Keshav Ram Chaurasia while police arrested DySP Headquarters Mohammad Aslam Choudhary after Additional SP Reasi Anita Sharma lodged a FIR against him that he had hurled abuses on her during the public meeting of Union Minister for New and Renewable Energy and National Conference president Dr Farooq Abdullah.
The Government has ordered an inquiry into the entire episode. IGP Jammu Dilbagh Singh would hold the inquiry, official sources said.
SSP Reasi Keshav Ram Chaurasia, IPS, Additional SP Reasi, Anita Sharma, KPS and DySP Headquarters, Reasi, Mohammad Aslam Choudhary have been removed from Reasi and attached in the office of the IGP Jammu by a Government order.
The Government has appointed IPS officer Atul Goyal as SSP Reasi, Mohammad Sharief Chouhan as Additional SP and Ajitha Begum, another IPS officer as ASP Headquarters, Reasi. They have been directed to take charge of their posts immediately.
Meanwhile, on the basis of a written complaint lodged by Additional SP Reasi, Anita Sharma against DySP Headquarters Mohammad Aslam Choudhary, Reasi police last night arrested the DySP under Sections 294, 211, 509 and 186 RPC registered under FIR No. 186 at Reasi police station.
As the offences were non-bailable, the DySP was lodged in the lock-up of Reasi police station. He remained in the lock-up for second consecutive night.
The Government has ordered that IGP Jammu Dilbagh Singh would hold an inquiry into the entire episode and submit a report. Till then, all three police officials would remain attached to the IGP Jammu’s office.
Sources said Additional SP Reasi Anita Sharma and DySP Headquarters Reasi Mohammad Aslam Choudhary were not having good terms for past sometime. Yesterday during a National Conference public meeting, Choudhary alleged that some vehicles carrying NC workers to public rally were being stopped by police at different nakas.
On this, Industry and Commerce Minister Surjit Singh Slathia, Chief Minister’s Political Advisor Devender Singh Rana and Deputy Commissioner P K Pole visited different places but didn’t find any spot where the NC workers were being stopped.
Thereafter, Choudhary in full public view started abusing Anita Sharma. He hurled abuses on the SP in the presence of a large public. The Additional SP couldn’t control herself and started weeping, official reports said.
After the public meeting of Dr Farooq Abdullah was over, Anita Sharma lodged a written complaint against the DySP. On the basis of complaint, a FIR was lodged against the DySP and he was taken into custody. He was put behind the bars.
Sources said the DySP has been charged with leveling false allegations, abusing and using filthy language against the woman officer.
They added that the DySP had earlier also been refusing to obey the orders of the Additional SP.
Sources said the Government has charged DySP Headquarters Mohammad Aslam Choudhary with indiscipline and SSP Keshav Ram Chaurasia and Additional SP Anita Sharma with failure of command and control while ordering attachment of all three officers from Reasi to the office of the IGP Jammu.
Moreover, they added that the action of the DySP and the SP in full public view have sent wrong message to the people besides the Government representatives, who had gathered for the public meeting of Dr Farooq Abdullah.
The new officers posted in Reasi were expected to take charge tomorrow, sources added.
