PDP Workers of Mahore Zone Hold Meet


GNS JAMMU  December, :  A meeting of PDP Workers of Mahore Zone (District Reasi) was held at Mahore under the Chairmanship of Mr. Abdul Rashid Wani, Vice President, PDP District Reasi. In the meeting various problems being faced by people of Mahore Zone such as unemployment increased rates of essential commodities, non-implementation of developmental works by R&B, R&D and other agencies were discussed in detail. The meeting was also addressed by Mr. Mushtaq Ahmed Malik, President PDP Youth Wing Mahore and he also lighted the problems and miseries of the people of Mahore Zone. He also urged the Government to store sufficient stocks of essential commodities in this zone so that the people of the area may not suffer for want of the same during the winter season. The meeting was also attended by Mohd Shafi Malik  Retd. Tehsildar, Bashir Ahmed Lone Shajroo, Ghulam Nabi Malik, Mohd Ibrahim, Shabir Ahmed Mughal, Mohd Yaqoob Khan, Shamas Din Khan, Abdul Majid Malik and Sadr-ud-din and other prominent citizen of the area.

Water mapping survey disappoints state planners

Tahir Mushtaq  GNS JAMMU, Mar 03: The much awaited water mapping survey conducted to find new sources of ground water in Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has found that most of the water reserves are unsuitable for human consumption. Sources said that the remote sensing technology survey carried out by the government with the help of ISRO has found high level of iron and fluoride contents in the underground sources of water found in the state.  The report says that many of the newly found underground water channels have been found at inaccessible locations, which need sophisticated technology to extract, beyond the range of equipment what the engineers are using in the country at the moment.
