Mr. Vakil also sought cooperation from all sections of the society to help in uprooting this evil deep rooted impact on the society. Mr. Vakil was addressing a rally today at samba which was organized by samba labor union on the occasion of Labor Day which was celebrated with great fervor and enthusiasm.
Expressing concern over growing rampant corruption in the state Mr. Vakil stressed upon the Chief Minister Omar Abdullah to take drive against corruption to its logical conclusion. No doubt he has taken number of initiatives and if he takes up this fight against corruption with utmost sincerity, he would not only make name for himself but also will help the state in taking a giant leap forward against corruption.
He demanded independent commission to probe into disproportionate assets of the politicians and bureaucrats and expressed concern that the politicians and bureaucrats against whom complaints are pending in the State Accountablity Commission have made the commission defunct by getting stay orders from the high court. There is no alternative except setting up of an independent commission to probe into the disproportionate assets of ministers, ex. ministers, and other public servants across the board. “Congress cannot be silent on corruption issue” and it is the dream of the Sonia Gandhi to see Jammu and Kashmir peaceful and corruption free State Vakil added.
Mr. Abdul Gani Vakil while paying glowing tributes to those who sacrificed their lives to regulate working hours create conducive working conditions and protect economic interests of the working class. No doubt the Coalition Government has done a lot in creating a peaceful atmosphere in the state and take the developmental process ahead but much is to be done for the youth by creating jobs for them in various departments so that they are not disappointed and cannot be exploited by those who are bent upon to weaken the coalition government by creating uncertainty in the state. He demanded immediate regularization of those casual labors working for so many years in various departments. Laborers are the pillars of the society. if their interests are not safeguarded, the country will definitely not go ahead in various sectors whose survival totally dependent on the labor class.
Besides others who addressed the gathering include District President Labor Cell Congress Gambhir Singh Sambyal, and Senior Labor Leaders Sita Ram Sapolia, Dewan Chand Sharma, Brijesh Sharma and Chaudhary Anwar.
