PDP president Mehooba Mufti visited many towns of South Kashmir and interacted with large number of the people and had the ground assessment of the hardships being faced by the people due to lack of basic civic amenities in these areas.

Furthermore people also complained about prevailing mess due to traffic congestion resulting into lot of problems to the shopkeepers. They also complained regarding the damages caused to the production of world famous Saffron due to high tension wires which pass through the Saffron fields.
At famous town of Awantipura, the residents regretted that despite the PDP led government, in its short span of tenure, had try to restore the glory of this historic town by establishing an Science and Technology Islamic University and granting tehsil status to the town, the present regime has failed to take the development process forward. Besides all these problems, there was shortage of water, power crises and collapsed drainage system in all the towns. Ms Mufti assured the residents of all these towns that PDP as a responsible opposition would agitate for the solution of their problems.
