MURDER IN RAJOURI

Following murder of President of the Post Graduate College Rajouri Ali Asghar on Tuesday evening, students along with locals throng Rajouri streets and hold protest demonstration. They were demanding immediate arrest of the culprits.
Ali Asghar Jatt (19) son of Mohd Ayub Jatt of Dhanidhar village was murdered last night when he was returning home with his friends after celebrations of his election.
The incident of murder of the student leader triggered protests in Rajouri town as students and people blocked traffic on Sher-e-Kashmir Bridge in Rajouri town and sat on a dharna. They were demanding immediate arrest of the accused involved in the incident.
The relatives of Ali Asghar told media persons that some local youth had blocked his way last night and they beaten him up to death. They alleged that he was kicked on the private parts which resulted in his immediate death. They said that they have given the names of all culprits to police but they have still not arrested all. They added that they will not lift the dharna till all the culprits are booked.
The protestors took the dead body and stage strong protest on road. However they were pacified only after the intervention of the administration. Deputy Commissioner Rajouri GA Khawaja, SSP Rajouri RK Jala reached the spot and assured the protestors to meet their demands.
Meanwhile police has lodged FIR No 367 of 2010 under section 302 in the police station against 10 accused among which five have been arrested. The accused who were arrested have been identified as Majid Khan and Sajid Khan, Haji Afzal Khan, Waseem Shah and Tufail Shah. However five others have reportedly absconded.
Sources said that Deputy Commissioner Rajouri has directed College authorities to observe 3 days mourning in the college where all educational institutions of district were directed to observe one day mourning and holiday on Thursday.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships.
