LAL SINGH, PATHANIA ADDRESS MAMOTH PUBLIC MEETINGS AT MAJALTA., RAMNAGAR.



GNS ; Ch. Lal Singh, M.P. Udhampur-Doda parliamentary segment, and Mr. R.S. Pathania, senior Vice-President, J & K Pradesh Youth Congress, addressed largely-attended public rallies at Panchayat Ghar Majalta and Town Hall Ramnagar. Mr. Lal Singh called upon the administration to gear up for redressing the basic developmental needs of the area. He also called for a massive civil initiative in this regard too. He lambasted the narrow and divisive policies of few parties who are out and out to divide people on communal and partisan lines. He announced Rs. 02.00 lacs each out of his MPLADS and two hand-pumps each for elected sarpanches to develop their respective Panchayats. He further directed PDD and PHE authorities to draft on-spot estimates for provision of drinking water and electricity. He also called for provision of estimates for Nanoti Nullah to Chadai Noun road. He also directed the Groundwater authorities to install hand-pumps at as many as forty locations in the area. He assured people at Ramnagar to get inquired sub-standard work at Roun-Ramnagar road and in modal village Kathil Ganjoo to be inquired through requisite agencies and punish the guilty.
While launching a blistering attack on the pace and module of development in the area, Mr. Pathania said that due to administrative neglect and lack of proper political leadership, the area has not been able to assert and flourish properly despite the availability of best of potential available here. In areas of road connectivity, provision of drinking water, electricity, human and animal healthcare, development of agriculture, horticulture and sericulture, tourism promotion, educational facilities, employment avenues etc. the area is lagging far behind. He sought Accidental Hospital at Manwal, fresh Municipal Committees at Majalta & Manwal, Degree college and I.T.I. College at Majalta. He also sought early start of work on Chountara-Sunetar road, Tajoor-Peuni road, Sehal-Lyani road and Sehal-Barigarh road.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships. Kashmir gets high security number plates

GNS Jammu, June 11:  Jammu and Kashmir today began fixing tamper proof number plates on vehicles in line with an apex court order. The number plates will have a unique identification to allow the transport department to retrieve all details of any vehicle. According to Regional Transport Officer Virender Slathia, the process started in Jammu and Srinagar while other districts would follow later. Slathia said the number plates will be visible up to 150 metres and will glow at night. Initially the plates are being fitted only on new vehicles. "We will fix 150-200 plates daily on new vehicles while the plates on old vehicles will be replaced on dates to be notified later," said the officer. Jammu and Srinagar cities have approximately half a million vehicles each plying on their streets. Slathia cautioned that it would be impossible to fix new number plates on all vehicles in the state within two months as directed by the apex court. The company installing plate
