One Day Conference Of National Trade Union Congress


GNS JAMMU DEC ; A one Day Conference  was organised by the State Unit of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) at Company Bagh near M.A.M. Stadium Jammu today, which was presided overt by the National President Of Indian National Trade Union Congress (INTUC) Dr. G.Sanjeeva Reddy-MP.

President J&K Pradesh Congress Committee Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP (Former Union Minister) was the Chief Guest on the occasion. Several senior leaders of PCC, Ministers and  Legislators were present on the occasion.

The function was organised  by the INTUC Jammu and Kashmir led by its President Shiv Kumar Sharma. A large number of labour leaders of the organization affiliated to the Indian National Trade Union Congress were present on the occasion.

National President INTUC Dr. G. Sanjeeva Reddy-MP described labour class as back bone of the development and economic progress of the country and said that INTUC is committed the welfare and protect the rights of labour class people of the country. He said that INTUC has its existence in nook and corner of the country and represents all sections of the society and is always committed to protect the rights of the working class who are the back bone of the India’s economic progress and overall development of the country.

He said the INTUC has always advocated the welfare of labour class in the economic and socio progress of the country. He extended full cooperation to their struggle for acceptance of genuine demands.

President INTUC presented a charter of demands to Dr. G. Sanjeeva Reddy and he extended his whole hearted support to  the cause of labour class and assured the leadership of the State Unit of INTUC of his best efforts for the redressal of genuine demands of working class in the State.

Mr. Reddy authorized Mr. Shiv Kumar Sharma who has been re-elected as President INTUC, J&K unit, to constitute new body of the INTUC in the state.

Earlier addressing the gathering PCC Chief Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP (formers Union Minister) extended whole hearted support to the cause of labour class and assured them that he would put his best efforts for the redressal of genuine demands of working class raised in the conference.

He asked partymen especially the ministers to take care of the problems of labour class and ensured their support to the employees in government, semi government and private sector in order to further accelerate the economic development and equal participation of labour class in the economic activities.

Prof. Soz assured to write to the Chief Minister for enhancing the minimum wages in the state to atleast Rs. 5000/- per month although at the national level it is higher. He also appealed to the working class to improve work culture in the state as some people are involved in red tapism.

Mangat Ram Sharma-Senior Vice President PCC,  Dharam Pal Sharma-Senior Vice President PCC,  Th. Hari Singh-Vice President,  S. Gurmukh Singh-Vice President PCC, Vice Chairperson J&K SC Board Smt. Swran Lata, President Mahila Congress Smt. Indu Pawar-MLA, Shiv Dev Singh-Ex-MLA, former Minister S. Manjit Singh, Parkash Sharma-Ex-MLA, Manmohan Singh, Neeraj Gupta also attended the conference.

The prominent INTUC leaders spoke on the occasion and highlighted the issues of labour class included S/ Shri Raghbir Singh Chib, Farooq Ahmed Wangroo, Pranav Shagotra-Working President National Youth INTUC, Som Nath, Vinod Kumar, Amrik Singh Sasan, Faiz Akbar Chouhan, Tahir Shwal, Mohammad Akram, Ranjit and Singh Raina.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships.
