Ravinder Sharma conducts tour of Nowshera Tehsil


GNS Nowshera,Dec: Member legislative Council and General Secretary & Spokesperson PCC Mr. Ravinder Sharma conducted tour of Hanjan-Rajal, Lamberi-Dandani area of Nowshera tehsil and took stock of the problems of people.
Mr. Sharma was apprised about the various demands by the Surpanches, Panches and prominent persons of these localities. At Hanjana, the people expressed their difficulties about power and drinking water besides put forth demand for upgradation of Middle School and proper road connectivity to Devnagri Hanjana. He (Sharma) instructed the officers of concerned department to take note of the issues for follow up action at the earliest. He also directed to AEE PDD to submit the estimate of power transformer in the area.
Later Mr. sharma addressed a largely attended meeting at village Dandani-Lamberi organised by Surpanch  Mohinder Soodan where Panches and prominent people of the Panchayat addressed the gathering.
Surpanch Mohinder Soodan and several prominent members of the society formally joined Congress party before Mr. Sharma. They extended full support to his efforts for the welfare of the people of the area.
Various demands put forth included Ration depot., upgradation of Middle School, road connectivity to Dumchaprar and Mata Mandir, Jhulla Bridge  to Thichka and improvement of water supply. They thanked Mr. Sharma taking keen interest in the sanctioning of a link road in the locality. Mr. Sharma asked the PHE authorities for immediate steps in solving the problem of the locality. He assured to take up their demand with concerned authorities do his best to solve their problems.

Water mapping survey disappoints state planners

Tahir Mushtaq  GNS JAMMU, Mar 03: The much awaited water mapping survey conducted to find new sources of ground water in Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has found that most of the water reserves are unsuitable for human consumption. Sources said that the remote sensing technology survey carried out by the government with the help of ISRO has found high level of iron and fluoride contents in the underground sources of water found in the state.  The report says that many of the newly found underground water channels have been found at inaccessible locations, which need sophisticated technology to extract, beyond the range of equipment what the engineers are using in the country at the moment.
