Sarpanch attacks on Panch


GNS Poonch,  : Police has registered a case against Sarpanch of a Panachayat for beating an elected member of his Panchayat in full public view. The injured Panch has been admitted in district hospital Poonch for treatment. Beside other injuries on his body, the front teeth of the Panch are reported to have been broken by the Sarpanch. Giving details, sources said, Poonch police has registered a case against Sarpanch of Palera Panchayet in block Mandi. The case has been registered against Sarpanch Wali Mohammad Khan with Police station Mandi for his alleged attacking on Panch of his Panchayat identified as Aijaaz Ahmed. Though no arrest has been effected so far, however, injured Panch has been hospitalized at district hospital Poonch where doctors have told his condition out of danger. 
While talking to GNS from district hospital Poonch, where he has been admitted vide CR NO 955, injured Panch Aijaaz Ahmed said that on 24th of December the Sarpanch of the village had convened a meeting of Panchayat members at his residence in village Palera and asked them to put the signatures on the developmental plan he had prepared at his own. "I was the first member who objected over the way Sarpanch had prepared plan at his own. On my refusal to sign his plan, 
Sarpanch got irritated and started abusing me in the presence of all panchayat members which were reciprocated in the same tune. On this the Sarpanch stood up an attacked on me along with his some relatives and supporters", said Aijaaz Ahmed Panch ward No 10 of Panchayet Palera in block Mandi of border district Poonch . He said that a case has been registered against Sarpanch but no arrest has been made by police so far. Despite efforts no police official could be contacted for comments in this regard.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships. Divisional Commissioner Jammu gave patient hearing to the deputation and assured them that he will look into the matter personally and keep in touch with the concerned authorities for regular supply of electricity.
