Surpanches and panches join congress party at Nowshehra


GNS Nowshera, Dec; Member legislative Council and General Secretary & Spokesperson PCC Mr. Ravinder Sharma felicitated the Surpanches and panches who joined congress party and took stock of the problems of the people and the pace of the on going developmental activities in a meeting held at Dak Banglow Nowshera.
The meeting was attended by the Sarpanches, Panches and prominent leaders of Block Congress Committee Nowshera, which was presided over by Mr Harbans Lal Bakshi, while Mr. Sharma was the Chief Guest. Prominent among those who were felicitated for joining Congress party included  Sarpanch S. Rajinder Singh, Sarpanch Mohinder Sharma, Panches S. Joginder Singh, Yash Pal, Ch. Sher Mohammad, Ch. Abid Azam, Sat Pal Sharma-Retd. Tehsildar.
The Sarpanches and Panches and other prominent leaders of the party apprised Mr. Sharma about the numerous problems of the people of their respective Panchayats and expressed their concern over the slow pace of developmental activities in certain areas. They also complained about the luke warm response from some departments towards the problems of the people and the discriminatory attitude of some of the officials in some departments.
Highlighting the problem of drinking water, power especially poor voltage and several pockets still without electricity, the non availability of the sanctioned quota of  ration and kerosene oil and the problem of genuine BPL families who were deprived of various welfare schemes for them and discriminatory & the arbitrary manner of identification of beneficiaries for  different welfare and poverty alleviation schemes were raised forcefully by the speakers and sought the intervention of the Congress leadership in resolving the genuine problems of the people.
Mr. Sharma impressed upon the party leaders including the elected representatives to unite their ranks and strengthened the party at the grass root level by constituting committees at the Panchayat level and in the block to monitor the implementation of the various schemes and activities by the administration and to ensure that the deserving persons get the benefit of the schemes meant for them. The adhoc committees at various levels were chosen in the meeting which would be further broad based for strengthening the party up to the polling booth level.
Sharma asked the party men   to inculcate the sprit of service to the people and carry the message of  Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi to every nook and corner and carry along all party workers and people of different shades and sections of the society in tune with the principles of the Congress party like secularism, socialism and justice to all, which is the strength of our pluralistic society.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships.
