Ch Qamar joins PDP along with hundreds of supporters PDP has earned credibility of people through its convictions, commitments : Mufti


GNS Jammu : Reiterating resolve of his party to address aspirations of all regions and sub-regions of the state, former Chief Minister and patron of Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) Mufti Mohamamd Sayeed today said that through its visionary and pro-people policies PDP led regime had set an example of good governance wherein all sections of the society were treated equally.
“Policies and programmes of PDP are formulated by incorporating wishes and aspirations of all sections, all regions and sub-regions of the state”, Mr Sayeed said while addressing a function to welcome prominent leader from Rajouri Advocate Choudhary Qamar, who along with hundreds of his supporters joined PDP today in the presence of Mufti Mohammad Sayeed and other senior leaders of the party.
Calling upon party workers to spread message of the party in every nook and corner of the state, Mr Sayeed reminded the PDP during its tenure had fulfilled the promises which the party had made with the people of Jammu and Kashmir in 2002 assembly elections. “Biggest achievement of PDP is that our party, in its tenure, has earned credibility of the people through its conviction and commitment”, he said, adding, “Unlike National Conference, our party has never compromised with its principles for the power”.
 “The previous PDP-Congress regime had initiated the peace process which ultimately brought positive change in this region”, he said and added that it was result of the reconciliation process started by previous coalition regime that peace was restored from border and a sense of security was development among the common masses.
“Attaining power is not agenda of our party. My desire is to make Jammu and Kashmir as Island of peace with the support and cooperation of the people”, he said and added that with the power of the people of the he want to change destiny of the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
He said it was all due to the pro-people policies of the party that PDP has  emerged as formidable alternative in the state within a short span of time. “PDP would forcefully pursue its pro-people agenda to restore dignity of the people and to establish sustainable peace, stability and prosperity”, he said and sought cooperation of the party workers to carry forward the agenda of peace and reconciliation in the state.
While throwing light on the road map prepared by the party, he said that the Self Rule proposal offers an inclusive solution that not only adequately accommodates the just concerns of all the regions and sub-regions of the State, but that of both India and Pakistan as well.  He said that roadmap prepared by his party was the only viable and most acceptable solution of the Kashmir problem. He said that self rule document has potential to solve both external and dimensions of the problem and this document was prepared by accommodating wishes of all the stake holders.
PDP patron emphasized on expanding the scope of trans LoC trade and travel. He argued that to make the historic 2005 initiatives more meaningful it was necessary to remove the hassles in the movement of goods and passengers. “The facility of visiting both sides of LoC should be extended beyond the divided families to common citizens of the two sides”, he said and hoped that all traditional routes which were plagued after 1947 would be reopened.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships. Divisional Commissioner Jammu gave patient hearing to the deputation and assured them that he will look into the matter personally and keep in touch with the concerned authorities for regular supply of electricity.
