Rich tributes paid to former Minister & MLC & JKPCC Leader Mr. Yash Paul Khajuria-


GNS JAMMU ;Rich tributes were paid to former Minister & MLC & Vice President JKPCC Mr. Yash Paul Khajuria-MLC at a Shradhanjli function held at JDA Complex, Roop Nagar, Jammu, today. Mr. Khajuria expired on  December 26th, 2011 when he suffered heart attack while on way to Jammu from Udhampur.
The Shradhanjli function was organised by Jammu & Kashmir Pradesh Congress Committee which was presided over by Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP (former Union Minister) and attended by Senior leaders of the party including Ministers, Legislators and senior functionaries PCC, District Congress Committees, Block Congress Committees and frontal organizations of the party.
Prof. Soz described Shri Khajuria as a dedicated and sincere solider of the party who devoted his entire life in the service of people and the Congress party. He was known for his honesty, integrity, commitment and dedication towards the party and the service of people, especially the downtrodden and poor. He rose to the position in the party from the grass root level by the dint of his hard work. He was always prepared to accept any challenging responsibility of the party and always held important positions in the organization.
Prof. Soz said that he had been utilizing the opportunity provided to him by the party by his induction to the Upper House to serve the people of the state, especially his home district Udhampur. His death is a great loss to the party apart from a personnel loss to him. He (Soz) suggested that a place should be identified in Udhampur, which can be named in his memory.

Water mapping survey disappoints state planners

Tahir Mushtaq  GNS JAMMU, Mar 03: The much awaited water mapping survey conducted to find new sources of ground water in Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has found that most of the water reserves are unsuitable for human consumption. Sources said that the remote sensing technology survey carried out by the government with the help of ISRO has found high level of iron and fluoride contents in the underground sources of water found in the state.  The report says that many of the newly found underground water channels have been found at inaccessible locations, which need sophisticated technology to extract, beyond the range of equipment what the engineers are using in the country at the moment.
