Disseminate people friendly initiatives : Omar to NC

GNS Jammu, April 10 – Describing J&K National Conference as a fortress of public aspiration, communal amity, solidarity and equitable development of all regions of the State, J&K National Conference Working President and Chief Minister, Omar Abdullah Tuesday asked the party rank and file to render selfless service to the people to mitigate their difficulties and help coalition government to carry forward development agenda with firmness and determination.
Addressing the Provincial Working Committee of J&K National Conference, Jammu province at Sher-i-Kashmir Bhawan here, Omar Abdullah said that J&K National Conference has always stood for the
cause of people of Jammu and Kashmir and history bears testimony to the struggle spearheaded by J&K National Conference for empowerment of common man. “Our endeavour in this direction would continue”, he said adding that J&K National Conference and Congress share the ideology of secular democracy and equitable development.
Omar said that both the parties stand for solidarity and holistic development of the State irrespective of any consideration of creed, caste, region, religion or colour. “The coalition between J&K National
Conference and Congress is a natural one for sharing the high principals of communal harmony, brotherhood, peace and equitable development of all sections of the society”, he said and stressed the
need for strengthening the coalition to achieve the higher goals in the process of development and restoration of permanent peace.
The Working President advised the party workers to disseminate the people-friendly initiatives taken by the government during last three years at grass root level. He asked them to highlight the public 
requirements on development fronts at all foras and at the government level so that these are properly focused and addressed.
Omar said that he has formulated a schedule to interact with workers at all levels to hear their views regarding the functioning of the party. He said he has asked the Provincial Presidents and others to finalize meetings with the workers at district level. These meetings will follow the interaction with the party cadre at block and village level.
The Working President stressed the need for strengthening the J&K National Conference at all levels and asked the workers to contribute in this direction. “You represent the people of Jammu and Kashmir.
Your glorious past and shining present is with you. You have to work to ensure prosperous future for the State and its people”, he told the workers.
Earlier Provincial President J&K National Conference, Jammu province Rattan Lal Gupta and all the District Presidents of J&K National Conference Jammu province which included Tanveer Kitchloo, Romy
Khajuria, Rajesh Bakshi, Satpal Lakhotra, Taranjeet Singh Tony, Mohinder Gupta, Dhian Chand, Jagjeevan Lal, Dr. Chaman Lal, Vipal Pal Sharma and Bashir Ahmed Wani, Mohd Shafi from Udhampur and Baby Pardhan from Poonch congratulated Omar Abdullah on being appointed as the working president of the party and highlighted the issues of the party workers before the working president who assured them that their genuine demands and issues will be addressed.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships. Divisional Commissioner Jammu gave patient hearing to the deputation and assured them that he will look into the matter personally and keep in touch with the concerned authorities for regular supply of electricity.
