Panchayat Raj System become an effective Institution of service to the grass root people in the state.PCC Chief Soz


GNS Jammu November 30 : President JKPCC Prof. Saifuddin Soz-MP has said that an empowered Panchayat Raj System would become an effective Institution of service to the grass root people in the state.
Addressing a meeting of Sarpanchs and Panchs at Akhnoor today Prof. Soz said that there is broader understanding between coalition partners for the empowerment of Panchayat Raj Institution on the pattern of 73rd Amendment of the Constitution of India by incorporating the best provision in the state Panchayat Raj Act. He said that the polls for the Block Development Councils were differed for a short period, for the purpose of further empowering these institutions and to provide reservation to women, SCs & other sections and the poll for BDCs and District Bodies would also be held shortly after the necessary amendments in the State Act. He said that the issue of honorarium to Sarpanchs and Panchs has already been taken up with the central government.
PCC President said that the purpose for entire exercise is to empower the Panchayat Raj Institution so that they become effective instrument of democracy and come up to the expectations of people who enthusiastically caste their votes in large number in the Panchayat Elections in the state over 80% voters participated in these elections which was appreciated all over.
The Minister for Health Shri Sham Lal Sharma, National Conference leader Shri Ram Sawroop and coalition candidates Sham Lal Bhagat & Dr. Shenaz Ganai also addressed the gathering.
Later, Prof. Soz also interacted with the Sarpanchs and Panchs of Raipur-Domana constituency at Sain Palace Mishriwala in the presence of senior  Congress leader and former Minister Shri Mula Ram, Ex-MLA & NC leader Shri Sat Pal Lakhotra,  Chairman Labour PCC Labour Cell Shri Hari Singh Chib, Youth Congress leader Shri Amit Chib and local leader of National Conference and Congress.
Prof. Soz told the Panchayat representatives that all four coalition candidates would win in this election and appealed to them to vote for the coalition candidates to ensure strengthening of Panchayat Raj System in the state.

PCC General Secretary Vinod Sharma met Div. Com. Apprised about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city.

 GNS  Jammu , June 05:  A deputation led by PCC General Secretary Mr. Vinod Sharma met the Divisional Commissioner Jammu and apprised him about the problem of electric supply in Jammu city. Mr. Sharma said that there are long cuts in the electric supply in the urban areas of Jammu especially in Jammu East and Jammu West. He said that the children and old aged are falling ill due to long cuts in electric supply during scorching heat. He said that the scheduled fixed by the department for power cuts i.e three hours for metered areas and eight hours for non metered areas stands no were. There are long scheduled and unscheduled power cuts and people are facing great hardships.
