2 burglary cases worked out, 2 thieves held

GNS Jammu, March 5th : Kishtwar Police displaying high professionalism, worked out two burglary cases by arresting the main accused and his associate and recovered the stolen accessories from their possession.The accused have been identified as Zakir Hussain @ Bitta s/o Ghulam Mohd r/o Sangrambhatta Kishtwar and co-accused Raj Kiran s/o Chuni Lal r/o Sangrambhatta Kishtwar.Reports said that two burglaries had taken place one on January 31st , 2013 in the shop under name and Stye Tanveer Electronics in which case FIR No. 12/2013 U/S 457/380 RPC was registered in Police Station Kishtwar, and the other had taken place in the intervening night of February, 20& 21 , 2013 in shop under name and style AD Agencies in which case has also been registered in PS Kishtwar vide FIR NO. 21/2013.On this SP Kishtwar constituted a special team to work out these theft cases . During course of investigation Police came to know that one person namely Zakir Hussain was selling mobile phones at very nominal rates, who was picked up for questioning and during which he disclosed that he had kept the stolen articles in one particular house and accordingly stolen items were recovered from that house. During questioning another co-accused Raj Kiran was also arrested who also confessed his involvement in the case and upon his disclosure some more recoveries were made.The stolen accessories recovered which includes; 106 Mobile Set New, 02 Laptop Acer, one Video Recording Camera Sony, 06 Sony Camera, 02 Tables with keypad, 92 DVDs blank , 04 Pen drives , 10 Card readers, 100 Phone Batteries , 50 Spare Chargers, 02 Emergency Lights , 02 Twitters, 05 Computer Mouces, 36 Head Phones, 02 Blue Tooth, 20 Un-serviceable Mobile Phone and 03 Make –up purses with full accessories.Pertinent to mention that in case FIR No.21/2013 about 06 lacks of property was stolen and the accused while leaving the shop set the shop in fire. The burglary was worked out after police put on strenuous efforts for days together and succeeded in cracking the case.

Water mapping survey disappoints state planners

Tahir Mushtaq  GNS JAMMU, Mar 03: The much awaited water mapping survey conducted to find new sources of ground water in Jammu and Kashmir by Indian Space Research Organisation (ISRO) has found that most of the water reserves are unsuitable for human consumption. Sources said that the remote sensing technology survey carried out by the government with the help of ISRO has found high level of iron and fluoride contents in the underground sources of water found in the state.  The report says that many of the newly found underground water channels have been found at inaccessible locations, which need sophisticated technology to extract, beyond the range of equipment what the engineers are using in the country at the moment.
